On this page you will find general instructions for the competition. The competition follows the official Kick Sledding competition rules.

Competition venue

The Kicksled World Championship will be held on February 14, 2026 in Keuruu, in the stunning winter scenery of Keurusselkä Resort.

Keuruu is easily accessible by public transport: by train or bus. The journey from the centre of Keuruu is about 10 km, so you can continue the journey by taxi, for example. Arriving by car is easy. Click below for navigation via Google Maps and find the shortest route. A warm welcome!

The race arrangements are being handled by Keurusselkä Resort Oy and Keuruun Kisalijat Hiihto in cooperation with the City of Keuruu.

Experienced experts are responsible for the course design and maintenance. The course is located on Keurusselkä Resort’s own beach area.

Individual distances:

  • Sprint 100 m – MYL, NYL, M55, N55, fitness series (M+N, age 7–100 years)
  • 2000 m – MYL, NYL, M55, N55, fitness series (M+N age 7–100 years)

Competition numbers can be picked up from the competition office, be prepared to present a receipt for the registration fee. Payment can also be made at the competition office in cash or via MobilePay.

Competition numbers will be returned to the box at the finish after the competition. Numbers not returned will be delivered to the organiser at the competitor’s expense.

Unofficial results will be available online after the series has finished. Information will be provided by announcement and on the website. Also the course map, results and start lists are available on the official competition website.

The Referee Council decides on the final penalties for rule violations.

Individual events:

Heavy start – false start, illegal start/progress/finish or intentional obstruction of a fellow competitor – last place in the heat.

Timed start – false start, illegal start/progress/finish or intentional obstruction of a fellow competitor – time penalty 5, 15.30 s.

A serious rule violation will result in disqualification.

Sprint 100 m – fee €20/person
2000 m time trial – fee €20/person
if you participate in both races, the entry fee is €30/person

NOTE! In the message field, enter the participant’s name and the race(s) they are participating in.

If the race has to be cancelled at the last minute, e.g. due to road conditions, 80% of the entry fee will be refunded. If the competitor cancels their participation themselves, the fee will not be refunded (exception, medical certificate).

Individual competition award ceremony after results are announced at Keurusselkä Resort restaurant around 12:30-13:30.
Team competition award ceremony after results are announced at Keurusselkä Resort Emma around 16:00-17:00. In the team competition, awards will be given to the fastest and best dressed/equipped teams.

Competition Café/Food
The café is located in the competition centre area at the old red cottage building. There is an outdoor grill and a campfire for roasting sausages in the café’s courtyard.

Lunch buffet in the hotel restaurant from 11:30 to 14:00 and dinner buffet from 17:00 to 20:00.

First aid is on duty at the competition center. Doctor Markku Puro will also be present at the competition, tel. 050 544 0566

The competition organizer has insurance for sports club activities and public events. Each competitor is responsible for other insurance. We recommend that competitors use their own safety equipment (e.g. helmets or other protection) at their own discretion.

Dressing and washing / WC, at Keurusselkä Resort – use of the spa is included in the entry fee. More WC facilities at the competition centre. Signage on site

The event organizers have all rights to the photos and other recordings taken during the event. Photos and videos will be published on social media channels and the event website.

You agree to these terms by participating in the event.

The series and distances are designed to attract both amateurs and hardcore racers.
